Some believe that we should stop investing in alternative energy sources, such as solar and wind power, due to their unreliability in replacing coal and oil. In this essay, I will outline why i believe that we should cease investing in alternative evergy sources.
Firstly, solar and wind power energy unreliable because they are dependent on weather conditions. For that reason, they are inconsistent and unsuitable for satisfying constant energy needs. For instance, solar power is ineffective at night, and wind turbines are idle during periods of low wind.
Another key reason is high costs of development. Building and maintaining solar farms and wind turbines require significant financial resources. The high cost of storage systems for energy adds to the overall expense which could be one of the causes of the economic crisis in the country. Furthermore, the expense of keeping and fixing these systems over the years is often quite high and more than that of the relatively smaller maintenance demand of conventiond fossil fuel power plants.
In conclusion, traditional fuels offer certain advantages over solar and wind power, including relatively low costs and reliability during periods of low wind or sunlight. Critics say that investments in these technologies may be more effectively allocated to more immediately viable solutions or to addressing more pressing social needs.
