The below line graph illustrates the population of various turtles present in India over the 32 year period.

Overall, the population of Ovlive Ridely Turtles and all other species have increased, whereas the numbers of Green Turtles and Leatherback Turtles have dropped.

Olive Ridley Turtles had a total count of 20 during the year 1980, which increased rapidly up to 140% in the year 1998 post which their population plateaued. On the other hand, the numbers of all other species remained fairly constant over the years and showed a marginal increase by a mere 10%.

Green Turtles, which had initial population of 38 saw a slight decline in their numbers over the 32 years span to 90% of their original figures. Population of Olive Ridely turtles had a slight increase up till 110% followed by a steep decline post 1986 to approximately 60% of their original values of 20.
