Managing money is one of the primary debates of today’s world. While some argue that education about finance should be acquired at school, some say that parents should take the responsibility for children’s financial education. This essay will examine both sides before stating my opinion.
On the one hand, fostering financial knowledge at school would be a great advantage for some children, as it is public for anyone. In detail, there are many conditions that some knowledge might not be able to be taught at home. For example, parents of some children might not be informed about finance. Thus, acquiring financial education at school is not complicated. Moreover, education is fostered by real professionals at school, which means students can have long-term knowledge about finance. In short, schools can provide great education about money.
However, irrespective of parents lack of knowledge about finance, they can teach their children some practical skills about money. In detail, there are numerous wealthy people who lack education. Thus, skills that are taught at home can also be effective and advantageous for children. For example, Joe Shin, the CEO of a bank in China, acquired knowledge about money at home with the support of his father.
In my opinion, both home and school education must be provided to children, as a mixed education can help students become more aware of financial matters.
On the whole, some students might face some challenges in getting informed about finance at home, and school can be a better alternative. However, parents can provide practical skills to their children. Lastly, mixed education can be a great advantage for children.
