The bar chart presents the percentage of different types of transport used by people in European cities in 1960, 1980 and 2000.
In short, the amount of transport modes used in different periods of time have both gradually increased and decreased.
The most noticeable one being that cars are often used more in recent years and up to 40% of total travellers choose to use cars in the year 2000. In the year 1960, cars were least used as a method of transportation by around 7% of the population. But due to an increase in the usage of cars, we can see that travelling by foot decreased over the years, what once was over 35% of total people in 1960, now in the year 2000, less than 10% of people walked.
The data also shows other methods of transportation, such as bike and bus but it can be seen that in the year 1960, about 25% of people chose to ride a bike rather than bus. But in a turn of events, in the year 1980, over 25% of people chose to ride a bus now instead of bike. Finally in the year 2000, while bus now has over 15% of people that chose to ride a bus, bike has been at an all time low for around 5% of people that still chose to ride a bike.
