Why do some people think that three years is a good age to start school, but at the same time, others are convinced that seven years is much better and more optimal for the first steps in school? In this essay, I will try to explain two points of view about the ideal age to start studying.
First, we’ll try to figure out why people want to revolutionize education by sending three-year-olds to school. The first reason is the speed and learning process, kids perceive information better than others, and they can also quickly and permanently memorize the information they receive from teachers, which could make life easier for children, as well as for teachers themselves. But there are also disadvantages to this, children at this age do not always adapt quickly to such conditions, they want more parental attention and a sense of family, at the same time, teachers may have problems trying to focus attention on students who are too young. In my understanding, three years is too early an age for school, since there are more minuses than pluses, and they are difficult to solve.
Next, we will consider the opinion of those who believe that seven years is better for a first-grader. By and large, most of them are in favor of starting school at the age of seven, since they are used to it and they would not like to change anything, while the other part believes that seven years is the optimal age because of the understanding that a child should have some kind of experience in life, even if not the greatest. but experience, especially in kindergarten, where children slowly learn to communicate with their peers, become independent, and it is easier for them to adapt to school conditions and find contact with people easier. I am more supportive of this part of the people, as I myself went through such a training system, and I understand that revolutions in this area can have big consequences. There is one good phrase, “Don’t touch what works,” and it fits perfectly here.
Three years or seven, which is better in the end? It seems to me that seven years is much better for starting school and we don’t need to change anything. We can only live and try to improve the education system, not the age of the students.
