In many countries, the adoption of technology in healthcare has resulted in longer life spans for individuals. Therefore, many people argue that retirement age should be extended to be aligned with the rise of live spans. While this shift pottentially lead to several drawbacks, I believe some practical measures can be taken to address this problems.
First and foremost, retirement age expansion may impair the development of certain bussiness as it may disinticivize innovations. In fact, advanced aged workers typically posses a wealth of experience and specialsised knowledge, which gradually make them become less enthusiastic and more conservative. The reluctant to adapt new things in aged workers can become a strong deterrent to young generations, discouraging them to make significant changes due to the concerns of backlash from their older colleagues. Besides that loss of productivity due to aging process is also a critical problems since it may interupt work. Contruction workers are telling examples. At the age of 65, they have to face numerous chronic diseases which acts as a dilution of stamina and accuracy, preventing them from completing their work efficiently
However, the gorvernment can tackle this paradoxical situation by introducing flexible retirement policies based on each people’s occupation, personal choices and heath status. This allows people who are physically healthy can continue their jobs and those with health issues can retire early. This helps governments to both maximize labour sources and achieve acceptance from their residents.
To conclude,an increase in retirement age can negatively affect businesses’ success and development but governments can minimize the risks by adding a number of choices.
