From an overall perspective it is apparent that except for using mobile phones for making calls, user percentage of the remaining cellphone features witnessed an increasing overall trend. This shows mobile phones are no longer just a mean of communication, but they are multifunctional technologies.
Using mobile phones for making calls has always been the most popular mobile phone feature, with 100% of users in 2006 and 2008 and 99% of them in 2010. Additionally, phone users who utilized phone for taking photos and sending & receiving text messages rose slightly by 10% and 6%, respectively.
On the other hand, individuals who used phones for searching the internet saw the most significant rise among the users of other features, rising to 73% by 2010. Over the same period, popularity of using mobile phones for playing music almost doubled to, reaching 26%.
