Overall, the number of dolphins rose over the years, while the other two species fluctuated. Compared to 2006, all the species population was increased in 2018.
In 2006, seals dominated the Gormez Straits with a number of above 40. However, the quantity of seals reduced rapidly in 2010. Thereafter, their numbers rose steadily to attain almost a same number of above 40 in 2018. In contrast to this, whales almost maintained a steady state of quantity between 20 and 30 throughout the 13-year period.
On the other hand, dolphins were the lowest among the three varieties in 2006, however they rose gradually and became as second highest population in 2014. From 2014, their numbers surged to reach a peak of above 50 in 2018, which is the highest ever population recorded in Gormez Straits for any species.
