It is thought by some people that the amount of total working hours should be reduced and employee’s weekends should be longer.I totally agree with this statement and in this essay,I will argue why i have similar opinion.
Due to technological progress and increasing level of living standarts,there is no need more for using human workforce in several areas of life.For instance,a lot of factories or companies such as Amazon,Apple or Google uses robots and computer systems instead of humans for physical and routine jobs.It perfectly demostrates us that by developing technologies,some tasks doesn’t have to be done by man anymore.
In some countries like Japan and South Korea,there is highest level of overworking.Sad thing that sad these countries are also in leading positions by suicide level and alcohol addiction,according to recent statistics.It certainly shows that overworking kills people in the literal sence.In contrast to Asian giants,more and more Western European countries nowadays continues to reduce working hours and days of personnel.In recent times,media even says that some governments and parliaments of European Union countries as Sweden and Switzerland planning to approve a new bill that involves shortening workdays of the week to 4 days and 6 hours ,instead of 5 days and 8 hours traditionally.It also means that weekends will be longer which I strongly support.
Conversely,some argue that it will affect negatively on economy and other spheres of life.On the one hand,reducing of work staff’s scedule will really weaken some areas like extraction and production of resources and minerals.However, I consider that life and wellness of mankind is more vital than increase of statistics.
In conclusion,I hope that we finally will start to appreciate work and time of people throughout the world.Everybody must be agree that life and time is the most expensive thing that we have.
