Over the last half-decade, international sports events such as the Olympic Games and World Cup have played a vital role in our community. However, nowadays, certain people think that these events are a huge waste of time, money and effort, but I completely disagree with this. These events bring awareness about physical health and fitness.
Firstly, global sports events attract attention from people of all age categories, and this helps to create awareness about the significance of physical health and fitness. This gives the awareness for youngsters to start building their fitness levels or maybe even take up a new sport which will help in boosting the fitness levels. Similarly, this also presents a chance for middle-aged people to restart their physical fitness. For example, a recent study has shown that the people taking care of their physical health and fitness has increased, particularly after the 2016 Olympic Games.
Besides, these events also create awareness about any specific sports. Most people wouldn’t have known about the existence of these sports, so global events such as the Olympic Games and World Cup competitions are very important for them to even find out about this sport and its existence. For example, most of the people in India didn’t know that there was a sport called cricket, but after India won the 1983 World Cup, cricket turned out to be the most popular sport in this modern era at the very land of India.
In conclusion, I think that international sports events are not a huge waste of the money, time and effort since it is bringing a lot of awareness for building personal fitness and as well as knowledge for the sport being played.
