Overall, the number of Restaurants’ jobs experienced an upward trend, while the opposite was true for Sport and leisure and Travel and tours. Also, Restaurants businesses had the most of occupations over the period.
The year 1989 recorded the highest number of jobs in Restaurants, at 1100, compared to 1050 of Hotels. While the figure for Restaurants increased gradually and reach a peak at 1600 in 2004, before a significant drop to 1300 in the remaining of the period, the quantity of Hotels’ jobs declined stably to nearly 1000 after rising sharply to 1400 in 1994.
There was 900 jobs in Sport and leisure field, which was higher than 800 in Travel and tours in the initial year. The year 1994 witnessed a decrease to 500 in the number of Sport and leisure’s jobs, by contrast, the figure for Travel and tours climbed to 1050. The quantity of occupations in Sport and leisure stepped up to over 1000 before falling by 300 in 2009, meanwhile, there was a constant decrease to 400 in the figure for Travel and tours from 1994 to 2009.
