The book that had a strong impact on me is The Paper Mariging. It is about a boy who navigates between Chinese and American cultures. He faces many conflicts between his Chinese heritage and American upbringing. I first encountered it when I was working on my English assessment. I had no idea which book to choose, so my teacher recommended this one, and I read it. The reason I chose this book is that before reading it, I thought people with two cultures were cool because they have so many perspectives, and I envied them. However, after reading it, I could understand the conflicts they face between both cultures. I realized that having multiple cultures is not always good since we often overlook the struggles behind the conflict. That is the reason why this book left such a lasting impression on me.
