One childhood event that really stands out with many minds is the day I finally learned to ride a bicycle without any training wheels. When I was 8 years old my family bought me my very fast bike a bright red two wheeler. Until then I had only ever used a tricycle or bike with extra little wheels on the back. But this time my dad instead I gave it a proper go on my own. I was 8 it was summer holidays so I had plenty of free time and sunny afternoons perfect for practice in our quiet. My older brother and my dad come out to help. My brother run alongside me holding the seat and encouraging me. While my dad filmed the whole thing with his phone so he could laugh about it later. First I paddled awkwardly with my brother standing the bike after a few bleep laps he finally let go just for a second but I didn’t realize it. I paddled faster filled the wind in my hair. And before I knew it I was gliding all by myself. Dad cheers and my brother’s high fives made me brushed into happy tears. The moment was unforgettable because it taught me two things. First the thrill of mastering something I once thought impossible. And second how much my family believed in me. Even ever since then I have carried that confidence into fast in my life like public speaking and learning new software. Every time I faced a challenge I still remember that afternoon when I discovered I could do it if just keep paddling.
