One of the most memorable places I have visited is Salento, which is a region in Puglia, southern Italy. I went there in the summer of 2018, I think, with my church group. We were a group of around 30 people, mainly made up of teenagers, including myself, but also the parish priest and a couple of nuns. The place was amazing. The weather was sunny every day. The sea had nothing to envy from more exotic places such as the Caribbean. We did many interesting things. We engaged in volunteering activities and listened to testimonials from people recounting events from their lives. I learned about the life of an Italian priest, D'Antonino Bell, who was very well known in the community; his loss was felt very deeply. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I would go back to the same places, even as a tourist, because they are so beautiful, including the historical cities like Lecce and Otranto, with their medieval city centers. But mainly, the experience was a way to connect more deeply with my friends from the church group and to grow as a person by listening to stories about the lives of people from the region. Thank you.
