Today, I would like to speak about Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal is located in Agra. It was built around 1682 by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. And why I like this monument is that it was built by Shah Jahan as a sign of his love towards his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It took about 12 years to build the Taj Mahal and about 20,000 people were engaged in building this monument. One of the greatest attractions of this monument is that it is built on the banks of the river Yamuna. You could see spectacular gardens surrounding this monument on three sides. It is now one of the greatest tourist attraction places in India. About 5,000,000 people visit the Taj Mahal every year. Another great attraction is that it is built using precious stones and marbles unlike other monuments built in the past. Taj Mahal is one of the greatest historical monuments of India. Situated on the banks of the river Yamuna, you can even see the shadow of the building in the water. There is a grand gateway in front of the Taj Mahal. As you enter the Taj Mahal, you see a small picture framed perfectly. As you move inside this gateway, you may notice that the Taj Mahal appears smaller.
