A monument that I really like is the Mysore Palace. As the name suggests, it's located in Mysore. It's a large rectangular building with a vast garden surrounding it. It's so expansive that it's difficult to walk around the entire palace in one go. It doesn't have many floors, maybe one or two, I can't recall exactly as it's been a while since I last visited. The reason I love this monument is its intricate architecture. Inside the palace, there are numerous paintings depicting memorable moments from the palace's history. I remember one story about how the palace kitchen caught fire, but the building remained standing. This resilience truly surprised me, especially considering the intricate architecture. As a biotechnologist, I'm fascinated by how things work, but the architecture of the palace still leaves me in awe. The arches, in particular, are stunning. They create a sense of peace and tranquility. The palace is usually less crowded on weekdays, which makes it even more enjoyable to visit. The entry fee is also very reasonable. Overall, I find the Mysore Palace to be a truly remarkable monument.
