A Piece of Art that I really like is The Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. I saw it recently at an art exhibition. Although I was familiar with the artwork through the internet, I had not got the opportunity to see it directly. And I was amazed when I saw the painting. I think I spent almost 10 minutes just staring at that painting, trying to figure out different details and trying to understand what the artist was feeling while he made this painting. Of course, as it caught so much of my attention, I had to go and read more about it. I figured that this painting was made by Vincent Van Gogh after he actually admitted himself to an asylum. This is based on the view that he had from the asylum window. The painting basically represents a starry night sky just before sunrise or before dawn. What I felt was special about this painting is those swirls in the sky. Some say that it represents the artist’s state of mind or personal struggles at the time. I really love the different shades of blue that is used in the sky.
