At university, I learned that we should really follow the teacher's instructions, point by point, to get a good mark. At first, I always thought that I could use my own strategy, you know, and that I didn't need to really focus in class and follow the teacher's instructions and strategies. But then I had a really low mark in the exam. I was really disappointed, but I tried to figure out where the problem came from and I tried to correct it. And then after that, the other semester, I avoided making the same mistake, so I followed during classes and I took notes. When I came home, I practiced, but it was like practicing the teacher's strategies to get used to them, to use them in the exam and actually understand them more. And after that, I got a higher score. So I learned that, you know, you really have to follow the teacher's instructions, even though sometimes you feel that what you do is correct, but you have to stick to your teachers first, use the strategy they suggest, and then you can do what else you want to do.
