The most special and popular event in my country is Indonesia Independence Day. We celebrate it every year on the 17th of August. It marks Indonesia's independence from colonialism. On this day, our citizens take part in flag-raising ceremonies in public spaces and schools. We also hold competitions and matches for adults and kids that bring happiness and joy together. Additionally, on Independence Day, we enjoy Indonesian traditional food and spend time together. We sing patriotic and nationalistic songs together, and personally, I am very happy when Independence Day arrives.
