Driving home from work today, I saw a broken-down car on the side of the road. There was a young man standing next to it, talking on the phone animatedly and looking quite distressed. I was worried about how close his car was to the road, so I thought it would be best to stop and help him. The man looked surprised when I first stopped behind him, but he seemed to relax when I got out of my car and he could see that I was smiling. I asked him what the trouble was, and he explained that he had a flat tire. He had a spare tire in the trunk, but he had never changed a tire before and wasn't even sure what equipment he needed. There was no problem, as I had seen my dad change a few tires in the past. Together, we were able to change the tire without a hitch. I cycled away, feeling satisfied with what I had done. It's not often that we get the opportunity to help out a stranger, and it left me with a feeling of warmth.

And it left me with. With uh. A feeling, um. Of warmth.
