When I was a high school student, my mother and I went to Cambodia. At that time, I could not speak any foreign languages, including English, German, and French. I could only speak Korean, so I didn't know how to communicate with the native Cambodians. I just went there as part of a travel package, so I didn't usually need to communicate with them individually. But when I got there, I wanted to buy a mango in a store, and the lady could not speak any English. She definitely could not speak Korean either. I wanted to buy some mangoes, but I didn't know how much they cost or how much I could buy with Cambodian money. So, I had to use my hands. I held up two fingers to indicate that I wanted to buy two mangoes, using gestures to communicate. I relied on body language because I couldn't speak their language. I showed her how many mangoes I wanted by using my fingers. That was one of my challenges. However, many travelers were also in the store buying fruits and other items, so I wasn't just watching them. When I insisted on what I wanted, she understood and exchanged my money. I wasn't sure if she exchanged it correctly, as some people might not do so fairly, but I trusted her and bought the mangoes. She kindly offered free delivery service to our hotel, which was very nice. The mangoes were really good; they were huge and very sweet.
