I believe nowadays advertisements are a part of our digital life. Well, I generally do not like to watch a lot of commercials because I think they are a waste of time. Although there are many ads that are funny, informative, but some of them are really annoying as well. Today, I would like to talk about a commercial which I really dislike whenever it is on air. I saw while I was watching a movie at home with my family. It is an ad of an energy drink called Strink, which is really very popular in my country right now. What happens in this commercial is a teenager is feeling very depressed and he’s kinda stressed out while he’s studying. And he goes into the kitchen. There he saw that drink into his fridge, and after drinking that sting, he’s all energized and productive, and he goes back into his room and he starts doing his unfinished project. And after that, it is shown that, uh, when he shows that project in the school, he just gets a very good score. What, what I do not like about this commercial is that how unrealistic it is as compared to the practical life, and how a false hope it is giving to the different age groups to stop making an effort and hard work and start drinking any type of soft drink which will help you, which will boost your energy and confidence so that you can finish your unfinished projects. I believe these kind of advertisement should not be aired because it is giving a false message into the public and it is just a kind of marketing skill that different type of businesses are choosing these days. But at the end of the day, I believe it’s not good for even the health of teenagers because they’ll get addictive to these kind of drinks and they will stop doing hard work and, um, they will stop making any effort into their projects as well.
