An environmental problem that occurs in Russia is deforestation. Russia is a very large country, and a significant portion of its territory is covered by forests. However, for economic reasons, forests are considered one of the main resources for export. Essentially, wood is being sold to other countries. One of the effects of this process is that Russia loses green areas that serve as natural habitats for many types of animals. As a result, some species may face extinction. There are also examples of measures that have been implemented to address this problem. For instance, there are ecological volunteering programs focused on planting young trees to replenish the lost ones. I believe this problem is important to solve because forests are crucial for the Earth's ecosystem. They produce oxygen, which is essential for animals.
