My favorite festival is Eid al-Fitr, which is celebrated every year in Pakistan. It follows the month of Ramadan, during which Muslims fast from dawn to dusk. I love Eid al-Fitr for several reasons. First, it's a time for family reunions. I get to visit my hometown and spend time with my extended family, including my uncles, aunts, and cousins. We all come together and celebrate. Another thing I love about Eid al-Fitr is the joyful atmosphere. Everyone is happy, and it's a time for giving. We receive gifts of money from our elders, which we call 'Eidi.' During Eid al-Fitr, we usually wake up early in the morning, attend special prayers, and then have a big lunch around 11:00 am. The rest of the day is spent catching up with friends and family, sharing stories about our lives, our journeys, and our work. Compared to other festivals, I find Eid al-Fitr to be more meaningful and enjoyable. For example, I don't particularly like Eid al-Adha, another important Muslim festival, because it involves animal sacrifices. I'm quite sensitive to blood and find the practice disturbing. Another festival, Muharram, is also celebrated in Pakistan, but I don't enjoy it either. I find it to be quite noisy and chaotic. Overall, Eid al-Fitr is my favorite festival because it's a time for family, joy, and reflection. It's a celebration of faith and community, and I always look forward to it.
