The first reason why teachers can use competitions as learning activities for students is that competitions are motivating. They create this sparkle which is needed to successfully learn something. And children, when they compete with each other, demonstrate the best of their prowess, the best of their skills. And when some small prices are given out for winning in competition, it is also very amusing. it rewards the children who were successful. And, however it can, on the other hand, it can create tension with the children who didn’t win, so maybe some participation prices are a good idea as well.
