The provided chrts below demonstrate the growth in the population in world’s largest cities during 1970, 1990 and 2010 years.

Overall, the graph shows a huge growth in population in 2010 in 4 megapolices except New York. While having a volatile expansion in population during 1990 among all areas.

In detail, 3 of 5 cities had a huge jump from 1970 to 1990. They are Tokyo, Boombay and Jakarta by gaining an approximatily over 6 million residents in these 20 years range. In contrast, New York and Shanghai had a little raise in peoplw which adds merely 1 to 2 million.

Moreover, the great change came in 2010 for Shanghai, Boombay and Jakarta. Shanghai went from being stuck in around 13 million to raising sharply by 8 million and reaching a population of 21 million people just in 20 years since 1990. Along with Jakarta which had a rapid growth of 10 million. Boombay’s population expansion is staggering by reaching 27 million. However, Tokyo kept a steady temp and grew only 5 million relatively, which is more than New York’s pace that had a little to no change throughout the years only having approximately 17 million people in 2010.
