Overall, all of the cities(Tokyo, New York, Shanghai, Bombay and Jakarta) have experienced increase of population during the period time. Especially, Tokyo recorded the top rate among the top 5 biggest cities all the timelines.
In 1970, around 16 millions people lived in Tokyo which makes it the highest record. New York and Shanghai was next, accounting for around 14 millions and 12 millions, respectively. Boombay records 5 millions and finally Jakarta showed lowest figures which is about 2.5 millions.
In 2010, on the other hand, Boombay shows most dramatic increase, accounting for around 26 millions which is the second record after Tokyo(around 27millions). New York experienced small amount of increase until 17 millions which makes it the least increase among 5 cities. Likewise, Shanghai and Jakarta shows lots of increase recording to 21 millions and 19 millions, respectively.
