As for the amount of time per day spent on recreations, British men allocate 137 minutes whereas women spend 118 minutes on TV, video and radio. In contrast, both genders save less than 20 minutes for other activities such as reading and sport every day.
Regarding house chores, the average time recorded for cooking and washing is by far the highest with 75 minutes for women, 45 minutes more than men. Similarly, in shopping and clothes and ironing, ladies’ counts are higher with about 35 and 30 minutes, while the figure for gentlemen is 25 and 10 minutes, respectively. Conversely, repair work takes almost 20 minutes from men compared to 10 minutes from women.
