Dear Annie,
Please accept my deepest apologies for being absent from your new house party last Friday night.
I understand that I am to blame for the absence but the issue occurred due to an urgent case that was assigned to me right before I planned to leave the office. Additionally, the case was related to one of our valuable customers who had been served by our company for five years. As a result, the case was so important that I could not reject it, and I worked overtime until ten o’clock at night.
Nevertheless, is it possible to drop by your newly decorated place with a bottle of 1973 wine I just brought? I know you are keen on wine, and I would like to share this important moment with you.
I hope you can forgive me for this mistake, and I will make sure that it won’t happen again.
All the best,
Tim Liao
