The chart illustrates the six kinds of professions taken by male and female executives in percentage across the UK in 2007. The gender gap between males and females was not significant with notable exceptions in the professions namely; construction, and therapists.
Regarding female executives, most of them are attracted to teaching, therapists, and advertising. The teaching professions are at their peak of around 90% which is slightly higher than the advertising and therapists profession by 40% and 5%. Professions like law, construction, and scientists are less attracted to females.
Concerning male executives, 90% of male executives are attracted to construction in contrast to females whereas the teaching profession is least attractive to males with a difference in the ratio of 1:9 in contrast to females. However, the scientists and law executives outnumbered their counterparts by 20%. But, when it comes to therapists, male executives are plunged over their counterparts by 65%.
Surprisingly, in journalism, both the male and female executives are equal by a ratio of 1:1 which substantiates the need for equality between the gender gap compared to other professions between the genders.
