The provided chart illustrates the proportion of houses owing cars in a European country from 1971 to 2001.
Overall, it is evident that the proportion of no car and more than one car houses had an upward trend, with the exception of 1 car households which witnessed a decline in its percentage. Furthermore, no car homes were the only residences that had the biggest change over the given period of time.
To begin with, the proportion of one car houses and more than 2 car ones had an increase. As for more than 2 car households, even though it had the lowest percentage at the start of a period comprising around 25% , it saw a slight increase by about 10% to 2001. Regarding one car residences it started by well above 30% in 1971 and ended up reaching its peak by slightly less than 50% in 2001.
In addition, only one type of household no car out of three experienced a decrease in its proportion throughout the period. Although, the residences having no cars dominated in 1971 at approximately 45%, this proportion decreased to about 25% by the end of the period ,therefore , placing it to the lowest position.
