The bar chart provides information about the proportion of citizens who drink tea and coffee in different ways across five Australian cities over the past 4 weeks.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that, while in almost every city bringing coffee or tea from a café showed the highest figures, only in Adelaide was instant coffee more popular than from a café. In addition, as listed above, there was a tendency that the percentages of consumers starting from fresh coffee then instant coffee had higher figures and then from a café.
Looking first at coffee purchases, the percentage of people who bought fresh coffee was highest in Sydney and Melbourne, at around 44% and 42%, respectively. The popularity of instant coffee was higher overall; consumers from every city made up over 45%, in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Hobart, with the respective figures of approximately 46%, 48%, 53%, 50%, and 54%.
Turning to café visits, Melbourne had the highest proportion, at about 63%, closely followed by Hobart at 62% and Sydney at 61%. Brisbane recorded a lower figure of around 56%, while Adelaide had the lowest percentage, just under half.
