In detail, there was a negligible disparity between the contribution of Theme Parks along with that of Museums and Galleries as the former comprising 38% and the latter 37%. While Wildlife Parks and Zoos accounted for 9% of tourists, the percentage of visitors to Historic Houses and Monuments was higher, at 16%.
In the Theme Parks section, Blackpool Pleasure beach was the most visited site in Theme Parks, constituting roughly half of the travellers(47%). The share of visitors to Alton Towers was 17%, whereas this figure for Pleasureland was slightly lower, at 16%. The remaining two attractions in Theme Parks accounted for one-fifth, with both of them comprising 10% each.
