The bar chart provides information about how frequently people in the USA ate at fast food restaurants between 2003 and 2013. Overall, the most popular frequency was once a week while every day eaters accounted for the smallest share over the period as a whole.
In 2003, the percentages of every day and never consumers stood at around 4% and 5%, respectively. After that, they both declined to 3%(every day) and 4%(never), remaining stable till the end of the period. Several times a week and once a week eaters also followed a similar trend. The former started at nearly 17% whereas the latter began at approximately 31%, ranking first in 2003. 2006 saw increases in both percentages before declining slightly to below initial values in 2013.
In the beginning of the timeframe the indicator for few times a year consumers was approximately 13% while that for once or twice a month eaters was exactly 30%. After three years the proportion of a few times a year consumers reached a high of 15% and evened out until finishing the period. In contrast, the frequency among people who eat fast food once or twice a month peaked at almost one third of the population after declining moderately to 25% in 2006.
