The given table shows African countries’ oil production by barrels per day between the years of 2000 and 2004. Overall, we can see from the table that Nigeria had been leading throughout the years.
The most amount of oil production is generated by Nigeria, providing 2000000 barrels per day in 2000 to 2300000 barrels in 2004. The second largest producer is Congo, extracting one tenth of Nigeria’s oil output. However, Congo’s oil supply shows slight decline each year. The third country in yielding oil is Cote, showing steady growth in production, starting from 8000 barrels in 2000 to 55000 barrels in 2004. The last place in generating oil goes to Chad, which had been showing no output three years in a row. Chad joined the production only in 2003 with 15000 barrels per day and increasing it to 50000 barrels in 2004.
Overall, the trend between four countries had been the same with Nigeria leading the production of oil.
