The utilization of three spreads are compared in this graph over a period of 26 years.
Overall, the butter consumption had declined dramatically in a period shown, while the intake of low fat and reduced spreads surged rapidly in jus 5 years. Margarine was the last item which fluctuated throughout a period of time.
It can be seen that in 1981,butter had held the most consumption approximately 140 grams just before climbing to 160 in 1986.After 1986,the figured had begun to decrease until it finished with around 50 grams in 2007.Margarine was another item which had dipped between 90 and 100 grams and stayed constant from 1981 to 1996.And for the following years, it dropped to the lowest of 40 grams.
From 1996 to 2007,there was a soar from 10 grams to 80 grams between 1996 and 2001 in low fat & lessened spreads ingestion. And for the last 6 years the trend saw a small decrease to about 70 grams.
