Overall, the number of legal immigrants to the Unated States flactuated over the period, reachin a peak in midlle of 2000s, while hispanics made up by far the largest proportion of immigrants compared to other ethnic groups.
To begin with, in 1990 approximately 1.05 million immigrants entered the United States. This figure dropped significantly to around 0.75 million in 1995, representing the lowest point on the chart. However, immigration immigration numbers than increased steadily, reaching just over 1.10 million in 2005. Although there was a slight decline to about 1.05 million in 1010, the figure rose again to a similar peak at just over 1.10 million in 2015, before falling gradually to around 1.05 million in the 2020.
