The bar graph illustrates the proportion of male smokers in seven different countries and an average of world during a period of time 2000 and 2015.
It is vital to note, Armenia is the country having the highest number of male smokers throughout the time period, followed by Bangladesh in 2000. Mexico bears slightly higher percent of male smokers than Australia. Moreover, Australia is the country having the least proportion of smokers.
Overall, the average rate of smoking in world is found to be decreased from around 42% to roughly 33 % during 2015 than that of early 2000s though Lebanon and Egypt shows opposite trend. Percentage of male smokers in Lebanon and Egypt reached the peak in 2015 with values approximately 46% and 49% respectively. However, in Bangladesh, the percentage of male smokers dropped significantly from about 62% in 2000 to nearly 39% by 2015. In addition, Armenia, Mexico and Australia also has noticeable drop in ratio of male smokers by 2015.
In summary, the average trend of decreasing smoker percentage is observed in the world. It is also interesting to note that, proportion of smokers is dramatically increased in Egypt and Lebanon.
