The given bar graph illustrates the proportion of males who were smokers across seven nations in the years 2000 and 2015, expressed as a percentage. These proportions were also compared to the global percentage.
Overall, in most of these countries, we can note that the percentage of smokers who were men was higher in the year 2000 than in the year 2015, which is also refllected by the global percentage of male smokers. Additionally, between the two years, most of these countries, except Egypt and Lebanon, witnessed a drop in the proportion of smoking males.
It is salient to note that in 2000, the percentage of male smokers exceeded 50% in three countries, namely Bangladesh, Armenia and Cuba, while it did so only twice in 2015 in the latter two countries. Nonetheless, of all the countries where the proportion surpassed 50%, it was only in 2000 that they even exceeded the 60% by almost 7% and 4%, respectively.
Finally, even though the proportion of smoking men changed by greater than 20% in some countries like Bangladesh, the global change was less than 10%, reflecting the small change in the rest of the nations.
