The biggest drop in the percent of male smokers was seen in Bangladesh, with a stark decline of more than 20%. In addition, both Armenia and Mexico also experienced a 15% drop in the male smoking population, from 65% in 2000 to 50% in 2015 and from 35% to 20% respectively. On the other hand, Cuba noticed a comparatively marginal decrease of around 2% In contrast, Egypt and Lebanon saw an increase in smoking activity by adult males by around 15%.
The world average reduced from around 40% in 2000 to around 30% in 2015. In conclusion, it was seen that most countries experienced a reduction in smoking population between 2000 to 2015.
