It is clear that most of the time romance books were preferred by readers.
In 2000, romance books were sold by far more than other 2 books with about 4,5 millions sales. The similar rates can be seen for history and detective books by approximately 2 millions of books were sold in 2000. After a year significant change happens and history books surpass romance books were sold 4,5 millions. in UK that year people did not prefer detective books which only sold about 2 millions, and romance books were sold approximately 1 million more than detective books.
At last year, selling of history book decreased to 1,5 million sells which is significantly lower than other two years sell rates. By contrast, selling of detective books were able to rose to 3 million sells. Smiler pattern can be seen for romance books which were able to increase their selling rates to 3,5 millions.
