Overall, it is evident in the study that there is an increasing trend in the amount of Japanese individuals going abroad. Additionally, the same progressive rise can also be seen among people from Japan visiting Australia.
In detail, there are over 5 million Japanese residents who travelled to different countries, and this trend was noted to be progressive until 1995 where the number of tourists became 15 million, which is a threefold increase from the initial figure.
Furthermore, in 1985 only two percent of travelers from Japan visited Australia. Over the next years, there was a gradual increase observed, with a small dip in 1989, but thereafter there was a continuous rise until it reached more than the 6% mark, and leveled off at that point in 1994.
