Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to report that my suitcase went missing on my recent flight from Cairo to Toronto with EgyptAir, and to request compensation under my travel insurance policy.
I returned from my holiday in Egypt yesterday, but my suitcase never arrived. It was a large red Samsonite with a lock, containing my clothes, souvenirs, and jewelry, and it had a tag with my contact details attached.
I dropped off my luggage at the check-in desk one hour before the flight. The airline staff rushed me to the security check because of some delays at the gates. During the flight, I realised that the baggage tag was missing, and I didn’t get any information about my baggage at all. After landing, at the luggage belt, I did not find my bag, and airline personnel said that without the tag, they could not track the bag or accept a complaint due to the airline policies.
I believe this was caused by negligence at the check-in desk, and I would like to claim compensation for the full value of the suitcase and its contents. I would be grateful if you could let me know what is needed to process my claim.
Kind regards,
