The charts illustrate the use of water in agriculture and the income that products provided in Australia in 2004. Overall, the percentage of water used for vegetables hit the highest point, while livestock and rice had the lowest. About total income, fruits recorded the greatest figure and rice still remained the smallest.
In terms of water which was used for 6 products, vegetables needed the largest percentage of water compared to other products, about 46% of water was used for vegetables in 2004. Fruits followed afterwards with around 28% water used for growing fruits. About 12% of water was used for cereal, which was just slightly above dairy with about 8%. Livestock and rice bottomed out at just 3% of water was used for them,
Regarding the value of these products, fruits were the leading goods which accounted for 42% of the total income. Vegetables came second with 33% of money funded to Australia in 2004. Cereal and dairy provided around 13% and 8%. About 3% of the income came from livestocks, which was marginally higher than income that came from rice (just about 1%).
