Overall , the rate of smoking per 1000 people for males reduced during the years unlike female smoking rate which increased and almost the same as male smoking rate
The smoking rate per 1000 male was 600 male in 1960 which is the peak , then it decreased gradually in the next years reaching 500 male in 1975 then it went down to 400 male in 1985 , after that it dropped to almost 250 male in the 2000
For the females smoking rate , it was at the lowest rate which is 100 female per 1000 people in 1960 after that it rose to almost 200 female in 1965 and it stablized for the next five years , then it increased to more than 300 female in 1975 and it stablized again for the next five years , after that it went down slightly reaching almost 280 female in 1990 then it reduced to about 200 female in 1995 and for the next five years it was a almost stable hitting the rate of 200 female per 1000 people in 2000
