The graph compares the changes that will occur after the redevelopment of the southwest airport next year.
Overall, the airport will be expanded to accommodate more flights.
Facilities like ATM, bag drop and car hire will be introduced. The number of gates will also be increased. To accommodate this, the architecture would be changed from simple rectangular walkway to Y-shaped sky trains.
Earlier there was only one entry for arrivals and departures. As soon as you arrive from one of the 8 gates, you funnel out of the walkway to reach passport control and customs. On departure, one would find check-in office in the hall along with a cafeteria just before passport control and security, leading to the gates.
In the redevelopment plan, there will be two entries and two exits for arrivals and departures. Moreover, ATM facility is introduced in the arrival concourse along with car hire and cafeteria. In departures section, check-in will be moved to the opposite side and be replaced by bag drop facility. While cafeteria will be available besides bag drop. Past the security, one would find shops section before entering into sky train to reach their one out of 18 gates in Y-shaped structure.
