The provided bar graph illustrates information regarding shares of spending in different categories in four countries, including the USA, the UK, Canada and Japan in 2009.
In general, what stands out from the graph is that all countries showed the highest statistics in three distinct sectors such as Food, Housing as well as Transportation, whereas Healthcare and Clothing were the least popular categories during 2009.
Commencing with, the United States experienced the highest proportion in the category of Housing, with just over a quarter. As for the United Kingdom, it had the second most popular expenditure in terms of Housing, well over one fifth in 2009. Japan and Canada witnessed similar proportion with about 22 and 21 in turn.
When it comes to Food, Japan dominated with around 23%, compared to the UK which had two in ten. The United States and Canada saw almost the same statistics, with approximately 15 and 14% respectively.
Regarding Transportation, Canada had a peak expenditure with 20%, while Japan was at the bottom of the list with one in ten. With respect to the USA and UK, they illustrated average figure, with around 17 and 15 per cent over a given period.
