The two maps illustrate the significant changes that the town of Harton experienced between the years 2008 and 2016.

Overall, it is clear that Harton underwent considerable development, transforming from a town with more green spaces into a more modern area with enhanced commercial and educational facilities. The most notable changes were the construction of a new shopping centre and the replacement of derelict warehouses.

Looking at the northern and central parts of the town, the derelict warehouses that were located to the north of the river in 2008 were demolished. In their place, a new car park and a large shopping centre were constructed. Furthermore, the woodland area to the east of this was reduced in size to make way for a new university and some offices, while the old town and main street remained unchanged.

In the southern section of Harton, the industrial complex was expanded, and a new residential area was added in the southeast corner. The school, which was situated next to the industrial complex, was also enlarged. Despite these extensive developments, the Arts Centre, the pond, and the residential areas to the west and south of the river were preserved in their original state.
