The diagram illustrates how to make smoked foods, which are famous worldwide. The place where we cook the smoked food is called a home smokery.

Initially, there is an open lid that allows fresh air to fuel the burning bundle of logs. At the top, there is another lid for refilling the logs.

Next, there is a narrow and long pipe that distributes heat to the bricks. These bricks create warm clouds that provide heat to the fish and other meats hanging at the top of the box during cooking. When prepared, these dishes are renowned globally for their unique and exceptional flavors.

Additionally, they are well-known for their long shelf life.

Task Response

The report provides a general description of the home smokery process, but it lacks specific details and comparisons. To improve, focus on providing more precise descriptions of each stage, including the components and their functions. Also, try to incorporate more comparative language to highlight the relationships between different parts of the process. The report falls short of the required 150 words.

Coherence & Cohesion

The report presents a generally clear description of the home smokery process. However, the organization could be improved for better flow. Consider using more explicit transition words to guide the reader through the sequence of steps. For example, phrases like 'Following this' or 'Subsequently' could enhance the logical progression. Also, the final paragraph feels somewhat detached; integrating the information about the food's qualities more smoothly into the process description would improve cohesion.

Lexical Resource

The vocabulary used is adequate and conveys the necessary information. However, there's room to elevate the language to a more sophisticated level. Instead of 'make smoked foods,' consider 'produce smoked foods' or 'prepare smoked foods.' Varying the vocabulary used to describe the components and processes would also enhance the report. For instance, instead of repeatedly using 'lid,' explore synonyms like 'cover' or 'top.' Boost vocabulary complexity to elevate the overall score.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy

The report demonstrates a good command of grammar with very few errors. The sentence structures are generally sound. To further enhance the grammatical range, consider incorporating more complex sentence structures, such as using participial phrases or subordinate clauses, to add depth and nuance to the descriptions.
