In recent decades, rapid urbanisation has raised concerns about whether cities will remain habitable in the future. While I acknowledge that increasing pollution and overcrowding could seriously threaten the quality of urban life, I believe that technological innovation will play a decisive role in addressing these challenges and making cities more sustainable.

On the one hand, there are convincing reasons why some people fear that cities may become unlivable. As urban populations continue to expand, infrastructure in many metropolitan areas are placed under immense strain. Housing shortages, severe traffic congestion and the growing volume of waste are already pressing issues in numerous cities. Furthermore, industrial activities together with the rising number of vehicles contribute heavily to air and water pollution. Without effective regulation, these environmental problems could intensify in the future. In several megacities today, residents are already exposed to unhealthy levels of pollution, and many people struggles to access sufficient green spaces, which negatively affects their overall well-being.

Despite this, many people argue that technological innovation offers promising solutions to these urban challenges. Rapid advancements in renewable energy, smart transportation systems and environmental monitoring technologies have transformed the way cities function in the future. For instance, the adoption of electric vehicles and intelligent traffic-management systems can reduce emissions and ease congestion. Similarly, modern waste-management technologies and energy-efficient buildings have the potential to significantly lower the environmental footprint of urban areas. For this reason, I believe technological progress will plays a crucial role in ensuring that cities remain livable in the future.

In conclusion, some people argue that pollution and population growth will make cities impossible to live in, whereas others trust technological progress to resolve these problems. I strongly believe that continuous innovation, supported by responsible urban planning, will enable cities to remain livable places in the future.
